Hello everyone,
How have you been?
After a
successful outing last year, with our spelling bee event which hosted over
seventy students from 31 primary schools across Lagos Island local government
in December at Aunty Ayo comprehensive school and vocational centre, Ikoyi, we
are following through with our mission statement by hosting children from
underserved communities in Lagos this year to a day of educational and spelling
activities.
This year’s
event is a unique one because we will also be partnering with Global peace
games for children, on their ‘Play soccer’ sport inspired initiative. www.playsoccer-nonprofit.org to fuse education and sports as a tool for
mental and social development.
Our area of
focus this year is Ilunla community in Olorunda local government area, Badagry,
Lagos , and we plan to engage the children in spelling activities, writing
compositions, reading , as well as sports and games like track and field,
soccer, sack race, handball , etc and we will need all the support we can get
from well meaning youths , people and organizations.
We need help
in these areas :
Volunteers
Nurses/
medical practitioners
Event
co-ordinators
Lunch for the
children
Gifts for
winning children and consolation prizes
Books and
reading resources for donation to participants
Sports and
games equipment like balls, T-shirts/Jerseys, Sacks
